Yaba College of Technology,YABATECH Five New Programmes Approved By NBTE

The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has approved five new programmes for the Yaba College of Technology(YABATECH).

List/Names Of The Five Approved Programms
The programmes are : the Higher National
Diploma in Mass Communication, Banking
and Finance, Metallurgy Engineering,
National Diploma in Welding and
Fabrication and Public Administration.

This is contained in a press statement
signed and released by Mr Charles Oni,
YABATECH’s Head, Public Relations Unit,
and made available to newsmen in Lagos on
Thursday.

It quoted Dr Margaret Ladipo, Rector of the
institution as saying that the management
received the report with gratitude to God,
while awaiting other approvals.

According to him,Our dream of expanding access to higher education for the nation’s youths is gradually being achieved,’’ it said.

It said that with the accreditation of the
programmes, the horizon had become
brighter for youngsters who wanted to
combine their brains with their hands to
make a living.

•The era of theoretical education is past.
•This forms our concentration on creating
industry within the system and emphasis on
entrepreneurial education to ensure our
products go out there to make a difference
as job creators and not job seekers.

Even, the few that may search for jobs
would have been fully baked for the
challenges in their chosen industries’’ it
said.

The statement commended the Tertiary
Education Trust Fund,(TETFund) governing
council and its members for their support
in the drive to sustain YABATECH as the
institution of first choice in technological
education.

It said that the college was still expecting
