University of Ibadan,UI Senate has Elected A New Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic).

The University of Ibadan Senate has elected
Prof. Gbemisola Oke of the Faculty of
Dentistry, College of Medicine as the Deputy
Vice-Chancellor (Academic).

Oke replaces Prof. Idowu Olayinka, whose
tenure ended last December.

The new DVC, the second female to occupy
the position, was hitherto the Director,
Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation
in the university.

Emeritus Prof. Abiola Odejide of the
Department of Communication and
Language Arts, Faculty of Arts, who served
from November 8, 2004 to November 7,
2006, was the first female DVC (Academic).
According to a statement by the institution’s
Director, Public Communication, Mr.
Olatunji Oladejo, the new DVC became a
professor on October 1, 2002.
