curricula to reflect modern changes.

University

Olaopa spoke as a guest lecturer at lecture
organised in honour of professors Bayo
Adekanye and John Ayoade of the Political
Science department of the University of
Ibadan.

According to Olaopa, academic creativity in
adapting the curriculum of the discipline to
issues and ideas is critical and relevant to
the national context.

He said, “Our curriculum review procedures
in the universities must be made flexible
and it must be updated regularly with
regard to national and global happenings.

The political science curriculum as an
example must thus be oriented to active
learning that will enable the students to
experience Nigeria and the world in the
various methodologies and theories that we
teach.”(Punch)
