UMYU ADMISSION SCREENING METHOD OF APPLICATION

Through this portal, you can make payment and fill the Application Form. You can edit your Application Details, view your Application Profile, upload your scanned documents i.e your credentials, and check your Application Status to know if you have been admitted. Follow the Order:

  1. Logon to www.umyu.edu.ng
  2. Read the Qualification Criteria.
  3. Click on ‘Register’ above to fill the registration form. NOTE: Registration is to be done once. If you have registered before just Login to continue filling your form.
  4. On successful registration, you will receive a success email from ‘The Umaru Musa Yar’adua University’.
  5. Click on ‘Login’ to log on, and then start filling the application form.
  6. Edit your Application Profile (This will require your recent passport photograph and your biodata).
  7. Edit your Institution Attended.
  8. Edit your Qualifications (WASSCE, and other Certificates are entered here).
  9. Select your choice of Course.
  10. Edit/Upload Documents (Attach your Certificates here). The next section (Declaration and submission of form) will not be displayed untill all sections have been filled correctly.

  • A credit pass in Diploma in Law from any recognized or College of Legal Studies in Nigeria.

DIRECT ENTRY Candidates with a minimum of 9 points in IJMB/ HSC/GCE A level/NCE, in Biology, Chemistry. Candidates with Lower credit pass in National Diploma in relevant subject may also be admitted.  
Biochemistry UTME Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics in not more than two sittings. English Language, Chemistry, Biology and any of Physics or Mathematics.
DIRECT ENTRY Candidates with GCE ‘A’ level, IJMB, with a minimum of 9 points are qualified for Direct Entry. A level Candidates must have Chemistry. NCE candidates must have Chemistry and Biology.

 

 
Microbiology UTME Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics in not more than two sittings. English Language, Biology, Chemistry and any of Physics or Mathematics
DIRECT ENTRY At least two A’ level credits from Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry etc. Candidates must have A level Biology. NCE candidates must have Biology and Chemistry.  
Chemistry UTME Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology in not more than two sittings. English Language, Biology, Chemistry and any other Science subject.

  • A Level/IJMB:

Candidates must have a combination of Chemistry and any two (2) from Physics, Biology or Mathematics with a minimum score of 9 points.

  • OND/HND:    

Candidates must have Chemistry as major or its equivalent with a minimum of lower credit from a recognized institution.

  • NCE:

Candidates must have Chemistry as major with any of Physics, Biology, Mathematics or other relevant subject or certificate from a recognized with a minimum of 9 points.

 
Industrial Chemistry UTME Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology/Geography/Agriculture/ Computer studies in not more than two sittings. English Language, Chemistry and any other two Science subjects.
DIRECT ENTRY
  • A Level/IJMB:

Candidates must have a combination of Chemistry and any two (2) from Physics, Biology or Mathematics with a minimum score of 9 points.

  • OND/HND:    

Candidates must have Chemistry as major or its equivalent with a minimum of lower credit from a recognized institution.

  • NCE:

DIRECT ENTRY  OND/HND in Mathematics at lower credit from a recognized institution.
NCE (Mathematics and any other from Physics or Chemistry) with a  minimum of 9 points
IJMB (Mathematics and any other from Physics or Chemistry) with a minimum of 9 points.
 
Computer Science UTME Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, and any of Biology/Agricultural Science, Geography,   Computer Studies/ICT and Further Mathematics in not more than two sittings. English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any other from Chemistry or Biology.
DIRECT ENTRY OND/HND in Computer Science not below lower credit. NCE (Computer Science and any other from Mathematics or Physics) with a minimum of 9 points.
IJMB (Mathematics, Physics and any other science subject) with a minimum of 9 points.
 
Physics UTME Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any of Biology, Agricultural Science , Geography and Further Mathematics in not more than two sittings. English Language, Physics, Mathematics and any other Science subject.
DIRECT ENTRY Candidates with HSC, GCE ‘A’ Level, IJMB, OND/HND or NCE with a minimum of 9 points. All candidates MUST have credit pass in Physics and Mathematics.  
Geography UTME Science Option
Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Geography, and any two of Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Agricultural Science

Social Science Option
Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Geography, and any
two of Government, Economics, Commerce and Accounting,

DIRECT ENTRY i) Candidates with minimum of Credits (C) across the subjects in NCE Islamic Studies and any relevant subject.

ii) Diploma in Islamic Education.

Library and Information Science UTME Five credit passes at SSCE or its equivalent (inclusive of TC II) in English Language and Mathematics, and three other subjects obtained in not more than two sittings. English Language and any three subjects.
DIRECT ENTRY a) OND/HND in Library and Information Science with pass at credit level.
b) National Certificate of Education (NCE) with minimum of 9 points.
c) Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) with a minimum of 9 points.

DIRECT ENTRY IJMB with a minimum of 9 points in Economics and 2 other social sciences or management science subjects or a National Diploma in Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Administration, Purchasing and Supply, Economics/Cooperative with at least lower credit.
NCE in Economics and Mathematics combinations must have scored a minimum of B grade in Economics.
 


 

Political Science UTME Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Government/History/Civic Education and any other two credits in Arts/Social Science subjects in not more than two sittings.

Sociology UTME Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics two Social Science subjects and any other one Arts subject in not more than two sittings. English Language, Government/History and any other two Arts/Social Science subjects.

  • (IJMB) certificate with a minimum of nine (9) points. The IJMB papers should include Sociology and two other Social Sciences Subjects.
  • National Diploma in the relevant subject area, with a minimum of lower credit.
  • National Certificate in Education (NCE) with a minimum of ‘C’ grade in Social Studies and nine (9) points in overall grading.

 

 
Accounting UTME Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English, Mathematics, Economics and any other two of Book Keeping, Insurance, Commerce,  Geography, Government, Marketing in not more than two sittings English Language, Economics, Mathematics and any Social Science subject.
DIRECT ENTRY Two ‘A’ level credit passes in Economics, and any of Science, Social Science and Management. OND with credit passes in relevant subjects.  
Business Administration UTME Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English, Mathematics, Economics or Commerce and any two of Insurance, Marketing, Geography and Government in not more than two sittings. English Language, Economics/Commerce, Mathematics and any Social Science subject.
DIRECT ENTRY HND/ND with credit passes in relevant field. NCE/A levels with a minimum of nine points in relevant field.  
Public Administration UTME Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English, Mathematics, Government or History and any other two t subjects from Arts or Social Science in not more than two sittings. English Language, History or Government and any other two Arts or Social Science subjects.

Islamic Studies UTME Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Islamic Studies and two other Arts or Social Science subjects in not more than two sittings. English Language, Islamic Religious Knowledge and two other Arts subjects.
DIRECT ENTRY A Minimum of 9 points in NCE Islamic Studies.

Hausa UTME Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics, Hausa and two other Arts subjects in not more than two sittings. English Language, Hausa and any two other Arts subjects.
DIRECT ENTRY 9 points in A –level (NCE, IJMB, GCE ‘A’ Level) or Diploma with a Minimum of Lower Pass. The subjects must include Hausa and one Art subject.
