Prof. Jega Returns To His Lecturing Job At BUK After Tenure As INEC Chairman Expires
The outgoing Chairman of the Independent
National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof.
Attahiru Jega, will return to his lecturing job
at Bayero Univeristy, Kano (BUK), at the
expiration of his tenure today.
Prof. Jega, who until his appointment as
INEC chairman on June 30, 2010, was the
Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University.
The former INEC boss, who is an alumnus
of BUK, will resume teaching at the
university after a successful five-year term
in INEC.
He will be remembered for conducting one
of the most peaceful general elections in
Nigeria in 2015.
