Oyo State Gets Funding From Japan To Build New Classrooms
The Oyo State Government has gotten
funding from the Japanese International
Donor Agency for the construction of 225
classrooms in the state.
According to the leader of the Japanese
delegation, Mr Ninami Naoyuki, when they
paid a courtesy visit to Governor Abiola
Ajimobi in Ibadan, the agency was determined to rescue primary schools in the state from infrastructure challenges by creating conducive atmosphere for learning.
“Selected schools in the state will benefit
from a total of 225 classrooms with basic
furniture and modern facilities,” he said.
Ajimobi expressed delight with the Japanese
government readiness to assist the state to
develop its education sector.
He said Oyo State had the largest number of
students population in Nigeria, which made
the state to qualify for more of such
assistance from the agency.
The governor added, “The state is currently
faced with the challenges of infrastructure,
qualified teachers and the required
teaching aides.”
