NAPS Calls On FG for Re-opening of Federal Poly Ilaro
The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) has called on the Federal Government to reopen the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, following the recent crisis that engulfed the institution.
In a statement by the NAPS National Senate President, Comrade Salahudeen A. Lukman, he condemned the crisis that recently led to the closure of the institution and praised the management for transforming the once crisis-riddled institution into a citadel of peace with dedicated and accountable management team on board.
Following a recent fact-finding mission in the school, NAPS said its leadership “is convinced of the good motive, passion for academic excellence and commitment to better student welfare prioritised by the management of this great polytechnic.”
The union however blamed the institution’s Student Union for the crisis as they did not fully explore the avenues of dialogue before preparing their colleagues for protest and locking up the institution.
