GIMC is India’s only moot court competition based on International Trade Law. It is recognized as a moot court competition of prestige by various international organizations such as the American Society of International Law (ASIL), the International Law Students Association (ILSA), the Asian Society of International Law (Asian SIL) and the World Trade Institute (WTI) and leading law firms.

This year’s edition of the moot dealt with issues of “domestic content requirements, interference in the use of trademarks and imposition of other barriers to trade”.

The Lagos State University was the only University from Nigeria and Africa that displayed outstanding advocacy performance at the various moot rounds held.
The high point of their participation was defeating the Host University at the second round of the preliminary stage.
Although, the team could not make it to the final round, but this did not deter the pulled ovation, leaving an indelible mark and impression on the minds of the judges, organisers, and the forty-two (42) participating teams from the United States of America, Australia, Indonesia, India, Sri-lanka, Nepal and other countries across the world who were amazed by the quality of advocacy from the team
