Landmark University Wins 2015 39th Annual Conference Soil Science Society Of Nigeria Hosting Right
Landmark University has been awarded the
hosting right of the 39th Annual Conference of Soil Science Society of Nigeria slated for March 2015. This is a week-long professional gathering of scholars across the globe. Expected at the Conference are Corporate members from various Universities, Colleges, Research Institutes and the Private Sector to
brainstorm on current Agriculture-related
issues with a view to proffering solutions.
The significance of this Conference to the
University cannot be over-emphasized.
Firstly, Landmark University will be the first
Private University to host the Conference
since inception four decades ago. Also the
hosting right is a validation of the
University’s institutional focus, being the
only private University in Nigeria engaged in
dogged pursuit of Agriculture as a
programme of study.
The University could not have won the
prestigious hosting right without meeting
some sterling qualities. Among these are
the institutional proactive leadership, staff
pedigree in the Soil Science Department,
institutional inclination towards an
Agricultural Revolution and the track record
of the Chairman, Local Organising
Committee, Professor O.O. Agbede, who is
also a Fellow of the Soil Science Society of
Nigeria (FSSSN) and an eminent Professor
of the University.
