According to news reaching NGSchoolz.com Team, The authority of Kogi State Polytechnic (KSP), Lokoja has announced the indefinite suspension of academic activities and the closure of the institution following student’s protest.

In a statement released by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the polytechnic, Mr. Luke Yakubu, the move was to forestall further breakdown of law and order in the institution.

It will be recalled that students of the polytechnic took to the streets yesterday to protest the alleged killing of a female student by a commercial motor cyclist.

 

The students blocked the Okene-Abuja road, impeding traffic flow and burnt properties worth millions of naira.

It was reported that Student of kogi polytechnic was killed by Okada man in lokoja kogi state on 15 march 2016 just because of 10 naira difference when the lady was ask to pay 50 naira that she said she can only pay 40 naira. Because of that, the Okada man chucks the lady with knife and that lead her to death.

The students take action after the death of the lady and block the road to fight with hausa peoples in lokoja since the Okada man is hausa by tribe, the students even borned Dangote motor with Cements at the front of thepoly gate. All the student has been ask to go home for further notice.

The okada rider was said to have brought out his knife and stabbed the hapless student on the stomach which later led to her death on Tuesday.

The news sent the students into hysteria and they went on rampage afterwards.

It took the combined efforts of law enforcement agents to disperse the protesting students and drive them back to campus.
