Here Are 7 Simple Steps On How to Overcome Procrastination
.Make Daily To-Do-List: Having a set of tasks you are to accomplish before you begin each day creates a sense of urgency. prioritize the list. Let the most important tasks of the day receive attention first when you are still at your best. Make sure you don’t overload your To-Do List with too many tasks. This may overwhelm you. Just take on what you can handle for the day. Delegate if possible.Only make sure you don’t put off till tomorrow what needs to be done today.
.Plan and Break Down Big Tasks into Smaller Bits. We procrastinate when our tasks seems mountainous or vague. However, with proper planning and preparation it turns out easier than we have imagined. you Try and break “BIG” tasks into smaller bits and how to handle them will some how surface. A journey of a thousand miles always begin with a step.
.Focus on the Benefit of Completing the Task: Point out clearly the benefits of getting those tasks done.this will spur and motivate you to act towards achieving them. When you get it done . Will it bring you benefit? Clear the way for something else you’d like to do? Be a milestone in your personal development or the completion of something bigger? Will it help to clear the decks for you emotionally? You need to know this!
.Avoid Unnecessary Distractions: It is part of our nature to get distracted which is why we need discipline and focus. It takes effort to remain focused on a particular task until it is done. Learn to say no to things that only serve as distraction to what you have purposed to do.
.Take Responsibility: No matter how hard you wish, the tooth fairy isn’t going to come while you’re sleeping and replace failure with success. Great souls have wills, Feeble souls have wishes. Make it happen! Don’t put blames on your environment or people around. you are responsible for every outcome of your life. Don’t totally bank on others to help you get things done. They may actually fail you. Understand that if it is going to be, it is up to you.
.Deal With Your Excuses: If you look for excuses you will find them. Excuses are lies we tell ourselves to avoid dealing with our present realities. They are like exit signs on the road of progress; they take us off track. Understand that the only thing between you and and the change or result you want is confronting the present challenge. No excuse can change that. No matter how reasonable it is. People have risen from failure to success but there is no record of anyone that has risen from excuses to success…so deal with them now.
.Don’t Be a Perfectionist: Getting things done does not necessarily mean perfecting it. Just thinking of how to come up with a perfect result can intimidate us and paralyze any meaningful step towards getting a particular task done. Instead of thinking on how to come up with a perfect result, just get started.
