FUTO Gets Full Accreditation For All Engineering Courses
The foremost professional engineering
regulatory body in Nigeria, the Council for
the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria
(COREN) has granted FULL accreditation
status to 13 academic programmes and
INTERIM accreditation status for 1 academic
programme in FUTO.
This news was
conveyed to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof C. C.
Asiabaka vide a letter dated December 15,
2014 and issued by the Registrar of COREN.
He recalled that a COREN Accreditation
Team led by Engr Dr Babagana Mohammed
visited the University for the period: 13-15
October, 2014 to conduct facility/resource
assessment of all engineering programmes
in FUTO.
He listed the result of the exercise

He added that the exercise was about quality
assurance aimed at ensuring that products
of engineering programmes in tertiary
institutions are sound and functional with
engineering personnel that meet the
challenges of society and compete
favourably with their counterparts anywhere
in the world.
He noted that the success of
the accreditation was due to the facilities on
ground in the University especially the new
Ultra-Modern magnificient SEET Building
complex describing which is an architectural
masterpiece and the best Engineering
Building in the country. He disclosed that
the Engineeering Complex had provision of
professorial offices for all senior Academics
in SEET which was also another unique
innovation.
The Vice-Chancellor thanked the, Deputy
Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Director,
Academic Planning and Development Unit,
Dean, SEET and other staff members for a
successful accreditation exercise.
