FUTA Former Vice Chancellor Has Been Kidnapped

The former Vice Chancellor at the Federal
University of Technology, Akure (FUTA)
, Professor Albert Ilemobade was kidnapped
yesterday in Akure, Ondo state alongside his
gateman.

Prof. Ilemobade, who was FUTA VC between
1987 to 1995, was attacked and abducted at
his Ijapo residence, in Akure.

It was reported that the gunmen on their
arrival at the residence of the former Vice
Chancellor approached the gateman and
asked him to lead them to where the
former Vice Chancellor was staying at
gunpoint.

They entered the siting room of the house
and bundled the professor to his car parked
outside the building.

However, the gateman attempted to raise
an alarm over the crime but he was
immediately shut up and told to enter the
vehicle too.

The gunmen then zoomed off to an
unknown location with the two. His car was
later abandoned by his kidnappers along
Ijare road.

It will be recalled that the Vice Chancellor of
Ignatius Ajuru University of Education
(IAUE), Prof. Rosemund Green-Osahogulu
was also kidnapped last week Thursday by unknown gunmen in Rumuolumeni, Rivers state.
