BUK Admitted A Total Of 8,212 Students for 2014/2015 Academic Session
A total number of 8,212 students were
admitted into Bayero University, Kano (BUK)
during the 2014/2015 academic session
matriculation ceremony held on Friday,
12th June, 2015.
Following the speech at the ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor, who was represented by the
Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Prof
Sagir Abbas, told the fresh students to
count themselves lucky to have gained
admission, because out of about 18,112
who applied, they were the successful
candidates.
He urged them to do everything humanly
possible to justify the confidence by abiding
by the school’s rules and regulations at all
times.
Prof. Rasheed added that for the students
to excel in character and in learning, they
must face their studies seriously and abide
by the rules and regulations of this
university that are contained in the General
Examinations and Academic Regulations
Handbook which was issued to them at the
Directorate of Examinations, Admissions
and Records at the point of screening.
He said that out of 8,212 students
matriculating, 4,487 (55%) are from the
Sciences and 3,725 (45%) the Arts. Also,
5,542 (67%) are males while 2,670
representing (33%) are females, saying that
each and every state of the federation is
represented, including three (3) foreign
students.
The DVC congratulated the students and
prayed that as they are gathered to witness
their entry into the university, They will also
in the next 4-5 years gather to celebrate
their graduation.
