Ahmadu Bello University, ABU Admitted 11,229 Undergraduate Students for 2015/2016 Academic Session
The Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University has matriculated a total of 11,229 undergraduate students for the 2015/2016 academic year.
In his address at the Matriculation Ceremony held at the Mamman Kontagora Square, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Ibrahim Garba, represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Ibrahim Na’iya Sada, said the matriculation ceremony is particularly a significant event in the University because it marks the initiation of young men and women into the challenging experience of intellectual development and maturity.
He said, the unique diversities and peculiarities of the University community should be recognised and respected for the purpose of peaceful co-existence.
The Vice Chancellor urged the students to be committed to their studies, and also cultivate a spirit of understanding and tolerance in order to resolve any differences with their colleagues amicably. Adding that, “you must pursue your legitimate demands in an atmosphere of caution and reason.”
He also welcomed the new students to Ahmadu Bello University and pledged to provide the conducive environment needed to guarantee quality research and learning in the University.
